The extensive experience in my commissioned assignments, my first-hand encounters of the challenges and blessings that one faces as a Christian professional operating in Corporate South Africa, paved a way for the writing of this book.

Ntombi –
I am personally loving the book so far. I am being awakened to the type of person I should be in the corporate space as a young black female.
I am looking forward to writing My final review, and mostly looking forward for more content and books. This is what every young person needs. Thank you very much.

Dr. M hits the proverbial nail on the head with her in-depth analysis of the racial dynamics of corporate South Africa. Her excellent facility with language, her vast industry experience and her passion for responsible, divine-purpose driven leadership, combine to make this book a must-have, for virtually every black professional. Yet the message, in all fairness, is one that will find embrace across the color or gender bar. One can only hope, that Dr. M’s very next book, is not too far down the road.
Nicky Hendricks –
This book is not for the faint hearted. When I started to read the book, I could not put it down, as it was so gripping. But when I had to stop reading, I was too scared to open it again. It really speak to the core of every individual, regardless of race, age or gender.
I am no longer in Corporate, but the book spoke to me on a very spiritual level. It made me look deeper into myself as a Christian and my engagements with another human beings.
I salute Dr M for her bravery and her obedience to the voice of God to ultimately put pen to paper and frankly addressed this topic. This topic that is mostly avoided or covered up.
Well done Matete!

Dr Matete, you are a unique vessel of God. Having read your book, I now understand why the anointing of God over my life is too much for some people! I am delighted to have discovered that there is nothing wrong with me and that I am simple living my Devine purpose-no need to dim the light! You have authentically shared insights, tips and Kingdom principles that we all can reflect and apply and remain steadfast in pursuit of making a positive impact in professional settings. Thank you for your selflessness. Godspeed Dr! Senior L&D Lead, Manufacturing & Industrial Development.

Chapter 1:
The book addresses real SA corporate matters, the white supremacy is happening and systematically operated without leaving trail.
The tactics mentioned in this chapter such as artificial black inclusion due to compliance requirements. I have observed this as a Transformation chairperson in different organizations.
Blacks are never enough and easily replaceable this is real, these can be observed where black leaders are been recycled within the corporate until they are kicked out through performance management or hand shake.
Chapter 2
The categories of many shades of blacks are accurately describing each character.
This is spot on to a point that the reader can identify where He/She fit into those categories. e.g Coconuts black professionals are easy fit due to their chameleon characteristics while the Docile are perfect to fit the regulatories away from the industry.
The power hungry characters in the book demonstrate real divisions within black professionals, this charaters carries white supremacy mandate consciously or unconsciously with the aim to gain position and status.
The key takeout from the book is that the SA corporate is regressing on diversity and inclusion due to individuals selfishness. It is the truth that is not spoken openly in the market.
Overall this book will open can of warms and the writer must be ready to engage any feedback without fair or favour.
Thank you

All I can say is “wow” ministry, teaching, coaching, words of wisdom all packed in one book. To me the part about sense of purpose was what resonated with my experience. I have always believed I have a purpose in the Corporate Space regardless what role I was in. I could reflect on my journey so clearly through this book. The tips and nuggets on how to navigate this space was a bonus. Thank you Dr M….so when should we expect the next book?
Zelphinia Howard –
The author outlines a stark reality of the South African corporate we have experienced, but often turn a blind eye to, in the name of not wanting to rock the boat, and in our quest to advance both personal and financial ambitions.
She boldly narrates what we shy away from uttering in public, yet in our own private circles and comfortable safe spaces, talk about. Her courage in lamenting the experiences of black women professionals and change agents, is both freeing and emancipates the soul.
“Walking in your divine purpose” has something for everyone”; black and white, whether you starting out in your career or retired, contemplating a career change or eying the next leadership role, young and old, or wonder how you, in your own space/ role can contribute to make South Africa prosperous.
She reminds us that all is not lost by giving us tools and equiping readers with scriptures on how to navigate challenges in corporate and excel victoriously given the realities of living and competing in an unequal society.
The author challenges us to self-reflect and encourages us to live our full potential regardless, reminding us that our unique talents are necessary to be productive citizens and needed to build a South Africa for all who live in it!

This book came just a right time for me personally. All I can say is not by chance but by grace. The realities, role-players and the landscape is so accurate. However the part which really inspired me is, “those with the hardest assignments often get the toughest test”. Also I was encouraged to embrace my gifts and calling and to continue to run my race, and in so doing complete my Divine purpose for this season. At times I tried to succeed on my own strength and found much frustration and anguish. Thank you for reminding me that as a person in governance I should let God lead the way, and open myself up to the holy spirit to lead me. Such an easy read and was hard to put down the author puts it all together so well, with an authenticity that is so priceless. Looking forward to more books by the author in the future.

WoW! I have not read such an honest, straightforward account of the many challenges and pitfalls we encounter or can fall prey to in corporate SA in a long time. The book is truthful and is practical in how to firstly identify the situations for what they are but also navigate how we respond to sticky situations while also trying to get ahead in our careers. Authentically so…..
The author is a seasoned professional who knows what she is taking about. She has a lot of varied experience and is also biblical and grounded in her spirituality, a winning combination which shines through in the book! I would recommend this insightful read to anyone at any stage of their journey. Happy reading 📖
